When I try to sum the define fields below I get asterisks when I display them in a HTML list. When I turn it into a hold file and display the hold file using an advance line graph, it shows the numbers perfectly. Any thoughts why?

DEFINE SUB_01_COUNT/I1=IF WBSUBN EQ '01' THEN 1 ELSE 0;
TITLE='01', $
DEFINE SUB_09_COUNT/I1=IF WBSUBN EQ '09' THEN 1 ELSE 0;
TITLE='09', $

TABLE FILE MANTIS_MYAGNE_STORE_USAGE
SUM
SUB_01_COUNT
SUB_09_COUNT
BY LOWEST DATE
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML
END

It shows asterisks because the value is bigger than the format. I1 only allows the ones digit. You may only be giving it a one or a zero but with Summing it will add all of the lines together and if it goes over the format will show asterisks.

Two ways to get around it based on what you want.

First if you care about the exact count use a bigger format like I7.

If you only care to check and see if the count is more than zero you can add MAX. to the front of your two define fields.
